Man stabs friend to death on Christmas day over stolen phone in Ogun (Graphic Photo)
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Isreal Oluranti, 21 for stabbing his friend Farooq Olusegun, 18, to death over an accusation of phone possession.
The incident reportedly occurred at Ope-Ilu area of Agbado Ifo local government area of Ogun State on the 25th of December.
All hell broke loose when a phone was declared missing. Farooq accused his friend Isreal of stealing his mobile phone, which resulted in a heated argument between the pair.
During the heated argument, Isreal reportedly took a beer bottle, broke it and stabbed Farooq in the chest, leaving him in a pool of blood. Sadly for Farooq, he died while he was being rushed to a nearby hospital.
After the father of the victim, Kolawole Abiola, lodged the complaint at Agbado Divisional Headquarter, the DPO, CSP Omonijo Sunday ordered Police detectives to the scene where the suspect was arrested.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Homicide Section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
